Description:

6/12/24 hours of map/compass navigation in the wilds of the Virginia Mountains!

The Get Stoked V: Cave Mountain Lake edition rogaines are 6/12/24 hour map and compass foot-only navigation events. Participants will go out and look for checkpoints for the allotted time. Solos or teams (any size) are welcome. No GPSes are allowed – only map and compass. We also ask you carry a small amount of mandatory safety gear.

The event will be held at the Cave Mountain Lake Pavilion near Natural Bridge, VA. The nearest hotel is the Natural Bridge Hotel and Conference Center about 6 miles back towards I-81. There is camping at Cave Mountain Lake through the NFS.

The event is Saturday/Sunday, 4-5 May 2019. Check-in will be from 7-10am on Saturday morning. Racers can start any time between 8-10am. Once you start, you have 6, 12, or 24 hours to collect as many checkpoints as you can and get back to the Cave Mountain Lake pavilion. You are free to return to the pavilion as many times as you like during the event.
