Fort Scott Frozen Five and Dime

Dec 12, 2015 at 9:00 AM

1010 Park Avenue, Fort Scott KS, 66701, USA

Fort Scott trails are very popular, hosting sanctioned mountain bike races, trail runs, and the popular Kayak-a-thon (trail run/mountain bike/river kayak). This will be the first winter trail run and should offer some great trails, views, and challenges for runners at any level. The 5K is a modified loop, the 5 mile and 10 mile run will be one and two loops respectively. All proceeds from the Frozen Five and Dime go to support the Gunn Park Trails, and runners are the big winners with all runners receiving $15.00 of Fort Scott Chamber Bucks that can be used following the race (1 year expiration). Besides the trails and Gunn Park, Fort Scott’s downtown offers runners a chance to visit the beautiful Fort Scott National Historic Site, the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes, and many shops filled with antiques and great gifts. All races will start at 9:00 am. Runners will receive a pair of cotton running gloves as well as $15.00 of Chamber Bucks. The event is not chipped timed. Runners may register on race day prior to the 9:00 am start.
