Fidalgo Trail Half
Pacific NW Trail, Oak Harbor WA, 98277, USA
Loops, lollipops, and ocean views pretty much sum up this course! While all distances will follow the same general course, the 5-mile course is an abbreviated version of the half-marathon course, completing only some of the loops. The full marathon will complete two loops of the half marathon course.
All distances will start to the north, enjoying the Rosario head loop, where you can see for miles out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Then everyone will quickly pass back through the start/finish area, heading out toward the south, completing the Lighthouse loop and then the Lottie Point Loop. That’s when the 5-mile runners head back toward the finish line and refreshments, while the Half and Full marathon runners continue to Pass Lake. Then it’s over the Deception Pass bridge to the Goose Rock loop and finally the out-and-back to West Beach, before coming back over the bridge and back to the finish line.
It bears repeating that half and full-marathon runners will cross over the Deception Pass Bridge. While the bridge has stunning views, it also has a height of about 180ft and will remain open to traffic during the race (runners will stay on the pedestrian walkway).
