Description:

The FATS 50K and Half Marathon trail race is held on the Forks Area Trail System (FATS) on the first Sunday in October every year, in Sumter National Forest.  The location is in Clarks Hill, SC just outside of North Augusta, SC. Runners will navigate mostly single-track trails with a few rolling hills. Runners will encounter rocks, roots, and the occasional mud along the trails and be treated with a few scenic views of the Savannah River. The course is fast yet very challenging. The race starts and finishes at the South trail head. The cut-off time is very generous, usually around 10 hours based on how much daylight we have that time of year. FATS 50K is a perfect trail race for your first ultra marathon and if you have never raced on a trail the FATS Half Marathon is a blast!
