Take on the ultimate endurance challenge and make UVA history! Run a 5k every hour on the hour until you’re the last one standing.

Endless 5K Charity Run Overview:

The Endless 5K is not your typical race.

It is an endurance challenge modeled after backyard ultramarathons: runners have one hour to complete a 5K loop along the O’Hill trails and return to the start line. Then, at the top of the next hour, do it all over again until only one runner remains.

Proceeds from the Endless 5K registration fees support the Charlottesville Public Housing Alliance of Residents (PHAR), reinforcing the connection between student life and the broader Charlottesville community.

You may stop after any completed lap—the only thing holding you back is yourself.

This format makes the event accessible to casual runners while offering a test of grit and camaraderie for those who want to go further.

The E5K is all about resilience and the spirit of our community.

Part of the E5K Event Series:

The Endless 5K is the premier event within the larger E5K Series, a student-led day of programming designed to bring together every corner of the UVA and Charlottesville community.

While registration is required for the run, the rest of the E5K festival is completely free and open to all.

Beginning late morning on March 21, the Hereford Lawn will transform into a community-wide celebration featuring:

● The “Hoos Up To What!?” interactive fair, where CIOs and organizations showcase what they do through live demonstrations and hands-on experiences

● Performances

● Recreation activities

● Food trucks and giveaways

● Community partners and sponsors

Safety Notes:

● The Endless 5K and all E5K events are intended for participants who are 18 years of age or older.

● The race path will be clearly marked and will be on UVA property only.

● Certified EMTs should be on scene for the beginning, but organizers do not guarantee their presence for the entire event.

● Event organizers will provide water dispensers. Participants are encouraged to bring reusable water bottles, athletic clothing, and closed-toe shoes.

● For participants planning to run till the end, you may consider setting up a little HQ with a lawn chair and rallying up your friends to help you hold out.
