Dragon’s Tail Stair Climb Challenge

Description: Welcome to the 2nd annual Dragon’s Tail Stair Climb Challenge, our newest and most intense race, where only the fiercest runners will rise to the challenge! Set against the backdrop of towering steps, this unique competition is unlike anything you've seen before. Participants will face a brutal flight of 333 stairs—descending then climbing as many times as they can. Each lap completed brings them one step closer to victory, but only the last runner standing will claim the title of Dragon King or Queen. The race is on! A mountain of stairs awaits! Click the link above to register now!! Race Information: This race will feature three categories: the 5K and 1K run/ walk, the Sprint Challenge and the Endurance Challenge. The stair case will be closed to non-participants during the race. Sprint Challenge: This race will begin at 9:00AM. The race will be run in heats and whoever ends up with the fastest time wins bragging rights and a special prize! Endurance Challenge: This race will go from 10:00AM-4:00PM, with laps starting every 12 minutes. Racers will start at the top of the stairs, descend the staircase all the way, and then ascend the staircase before the next lap starts. For 2026 there will be a few changes relative to the time allowed to do the laps. More information will be forthcoming! There will be 25 laps total with the last lap being a timed sprint from the bottom to the top to crown the male and female winners of the Dragon Tail challenge. You will get a finisher medal after the first lap and milestone awards all along the way. Come climb one time or climb them all! Completing the entire challenge means you've run a whole 5k of stairs! 5K and 1K Run/ Walk: This race will begin at 7:30am. The race will start at the top of the stairs and do a loop around the Tech Ridge Trail down to the bottom of the stair case and finishing with a climb up the staircase!
