Montana’s trail race season begins in May at the Don’t Fence Me In Trail Run. Explore Helena’s South Hills and the lands and trails protected by Prickly Pear Land Trust. Don’t Fence Me In is more than a race – it’s a grassroots celebration of community, connection, and Happy Trails. Four courses start and finish in the heart of Montana’s capital. Runners go from historic streets to rugged single-track in minutes. Choose from four races – 50K, 25K, 12K, and 5K – or two hike events – 12K Hike and 5K Dog Walk.
