Brought to you by the Albany Running Exchange, the Dodge the Deer 5K delivers a beautiful, non-technical course that’s flat, beginner-friendly, and perfect for runners, walkers, families, and kids alike. Whether you’re chasing a PR or just exploring a gorgeous place along the Hudson River, this is trail running at its most welcoming.

Bring the whole crew — kids can join the action with the Bully the Bear 200m Sprint and the Chase the Chipmunk 1 Mile. Stick around after for music, food, and a festive atmosphere that makes this more than a race — it’s a celebration.

Oh — and yes, the name? That came from an actual deer jumping out in front of the founders on a run back in 2002.
