Dion Ganaraska Forest Snowshoe Race

Description:

The race course at Ganaraska will be run on a dedicated snowshoe trail that is well marked year round, and winds its way through the central portion of the beautiful Ganaraska Forest. The race will be run on the “long” 8km loop of the snowshoe trail and will not use the “short” 2.5km loop portion of the snowshoe trail. The race course is a mix of rolling single and double track trail that winds through a beautiful section of the forest that is both varied and challenging. The snowshoe trail is well used through the winter and will likely be well packed. This should provide an exhilarating experience for both first time snowshoe runners and also those experienced snowshoe runners who are wanting to test themselves against the elements.

Please note: there are several dedicated ski trails in the central forest and some grids for skiiers in the open areas of the forest. Please respect other forest users by trying to avoid these areas before, during and after the race (unless you are on skis).
