Defeated Creek Half Marathon

Description: The Defeated Creek Half Marathon is located on the Bearwaller Gap trail between the Defeated Creek campground and the Scenic Overlook – which features spectacular views of Cordell Hull Lake and the Cumberland River. The Defeated Creek campground is easily accessible off of 40-East and is just outside of Carthage, TN. While breathtakingly beautiful, with its extremely narrow single track, rocky, steep terrain, and over 2400’ of ascent, this race is not for beginners or the faint of heart. There will be ONE aid station which is located at the halfway/turn-around point at the Scenic Overlook. This will also be the ONLY location for racers to drop from the race. To qualify, runners must have completed at least one half marathon or race of a longer distance. All proceeds of the Defeated Creek Half Marathon will go to the Smith County Rescue Squad and the East Nasty Running Club. East Nasty is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to make East Nashville a great place to live and run, and to make running accessible to everyone in its community.
