The Craddock Swamp Challenge 5KX2 is a new and unique race that has you race 2- 5K races and average your time. The winners of each category of the double 5K races will receive a grand prize and the 2nd and 3rd place finishers will receive prizes as well. If you only want to run a single 5K that is great too, just pay for the single race entry. This race in on a farm in the rural area of Capron, Virginia, near Courtland and Franklin just off highway 58. The trail run has you running along the swamp, complete with a large beaver dam, around crops, through the woods and around ponds and along farm roads. You will encounter some roots in the woods, the trails are wide but have overhanging trees and sometimes there can be fallen branches. You may have to jump or stretch over a stream and for some some odd reason we have a sandy section. Registration will be on RunReg.com opening the first week of September. The first 100 pre-registered entrants will receive a special gift. Every pre-registered runner will receive a race memento upon finishing. Pre-registration Event fee for the 5KX2 is $40.00. For a single 5K race the pre-registration fee is $25.00. Day of event registration adds $10.00. Stay around after the race for food and beverages AND Camping – YES you may register to camp on the farm and spend the night with some fellow runners and some bike racers that are going to be there for the Sunday event.
