After 150 years, there still remain the old Gisbourne toll road, steadily climbing up the west face of Bald Mountain; the ruins of Jacob City, a thriving mining town of 300 established in 1865; the steep, rugged mining road which took men, animals, and ore down Dry Canyon; Soldier Canyon Road, with it’s remnants of silver ore kilns beside the way; and the old pack trail ascending the South Fork of Soldier Canyon.
