Race starts at River Run Plaza (elevation 5,760′ ft) and goes immediately up the Lower River Run and Canyon ski runs. The relentless climb taunts you as you push for relief on the final headwall of the Upper Canyon ski run before reaching the Roundhouse Restaurant (7680’ ft). A short downhill traverse on a mellow service road gets you to the Seattle Ridge area of Bald Mountain (elevation 9,150) where you’ll be greeted by views of Sun Valley’s legendary Bowls.

Now the real fun begins, you’ll push to the Bald Mountain ridge with views of 5 mountain ranges and an abandoned Forest Service lookout. Once you reward yourself summiting Bald Mountain (9,150′ ft), you will begin your descent down to the Lookout Restaurant where you’ll link into the Bald Mountain trail.

As you descend the Bald Mountain trail through big Aspen groves and pine trees, you’ll see views of both base areas and the mountain town of Ketchum, descending on amazing single track. This 5 mile, 3100’ singletrack shaded descent is a welcome break from your summit assault. As you approach the base area, you’ll hear the music and good times bumping as you near the finish line, back where you started. Please stay on marked & established trails at all times.
