Chiemgauer 100

Oct 17, 2026 at 9:00 AM

Am Sportplatz 6, Bergen 83346, Germany

Meets ATRA event standards Feature this race

The Chiemgauer 100 mountain ultra is a nature trail run which employs mainly alpine hiking trails and forestry roads. It includes several major and technically challenging climbs and descents. It follows the example of the tougher American 100 mile trail races. We offer also a 100 km distance, which joins the second half of the 100 mile race.

The run has been held since 2005 in nearly unchanged form, starting and finishing in Ruhpolding. However, from 2021 onwards,  the base camp, which serves both as start and finish area, as well meeting point for family, friends and all interested in the race, was transferred to Bergen, Chiemgau for organizational reasons. The course is accessible by public roads only in a few locations and tries to string together the most beautiful nature running trails of the region. The runners may officially shorten the race by 10k by omitting the final mountain.

What you won’t find: Stardom, excessive media attention, age groups, press packages, price or start money. What you will find: Prices given away by lottery amongst all 100+k finishers, trophies for the winning 3 men and women, commemorative finisher item (e.g. T-shirt) for all distances, pasta party, motivated volunteers, cameraderie and an unforgettable experience.
