Carmel Valley Trail 15K 10K and 5K

Welcome to San Diego’s only trail race through beautiful Gonzales Canyon Open Space and Torrey Highlands Community Park.

Participants at the 8th annual Carmel Valley trail race, regardless of distance, will experience one of the hillier courses you will find without heading to the mountains. Elevation gains are only between 300′-700″ depending on the course, and some of the hills you may encounter are short, but STEEP.

This event within the running community has quickly earned the reputation as “San Diego’s Hardest 5K” , but the 10K and 15K courses are no slouch, especially since we have added the locally famous  “puke” hill in the final half mile of the the event. 

Don’t let the coastal backdrop fool you… this event can feel like a mountain race so train like it is.
