Buffalo Trace 5K Trail Run

Description: The Buffalo Trace Trail Run Series will be staged at the former location of Big Rock Off Road Park on Stonelick Road in eastern Mason County. The trail series is organized by Kentucky Mudfest Sports and Recreation, which stages a Filthy 5K run and obstacle course in September at the same property. Owner Duke Ford said the Buffalo Trace Trail Run Series does not include an obstacle course and offers three different runs: a 5K on May 2; a 10K on June 6; and a 15K on July 11. Each run will start at the Stonelick property and move west to the Big Zipper Zip Line site off Taylor Mill Road. Ford said the courses are along existing trails and areas without trails. Join the trail running revolution by getting off road with us in 2015. Trail running takes you away from the hard packed concrete and leads you into the fresh air and flowing trails. Run along a scenic trail through the wilderness, past meadows of our famous bluegrass, beside bubbling streams, over mountains and through stunning natural landscapes. Each of these races will be held on clearly marked courses in a supervised race environment, through our magnificent Kentucky wilderness!
