2022 Race Cancelled
Over the rocks and through the woods Ornery Mule Racing goes again to another stunning segment of Wisconsin’s iconic Ice Age Trail for the second annual Brooklyn Wildlife Trail Race (BWTR).
The BWTR will out and back you over 24, 12, or 6 miles of rolling single and double track trail carrying you through beautiful prairie, meadow marshes, and thick forest. You will enjoy mostly smooth trail while running along majestic oak ridges and gorgeous wildflower patches.
Donations and a portion of race proceeds from this race will go to the Ice Age Trail Alliance to help maintain and develop the Ice Age Trail.
The beautiful Brooklyn Wildlife Area is close to Madison, just ten miles south of Verona and Oregon, and nestled nicely between the quaint Wisconsin communities of Paoli, Belleville, and Brooklyn.
The BWTR is gentler and less technical than the Arbor Ridge Trail Race and Kettle 100. This an ideal for runners training for marathons or ultramarathons.
In typical Ornery Mule Racing style, we will celebrate after the race with great music, food, and drinks.
