Attingham Park Night Run

Attingham Hall is at the heart of a great estate between Shrewsbury and the River Severn and is set in parkland designed to impress. Home to a wide range of wildlife, there’s a Deer Park, walled garden, 370 acres of glorious woodland and miles of beautiful trails to explore. Explorer – approx. 2 km – Starting with an impressive view of the Regency Mansion, this flat accessible trail route takes you along the banks of the River Tern, past the mysterious ice house and along the woodland path, shaded by the ancient trees of the estate. The route will then continue along the tranquil mile walk, originally set out as a pleasure ground for the First Lord Berwick, before you approach the mansion to begin your second lap. This route is ideal for walkers and younger family members. Why not help your little explorers tick off some of your 50 things to do before your 11¾ on your way round, with no. 27 go star gazing and no. 40 go on a nature walk at night being great ones to try. Adventurer – approx. 6 km – With darkness descending, you’ll start on the Explorer course, taking in the views of the Regency Mansion, before making your way past the paddock and on to the flat, even ground of the tree-covered mile walk. The route will take you through the orchard and Shoulder of Mutton play field before winding its way to the popular woodland walk. You will then follow the path back along the mile walk, following the path of the river Tern to return to the mansion.
