Directions: From I-44 Take the State Highway 49 Exit
(Medicine Park/Wichita Mtns Wildlife Refuge). Drive approx. Six miles and turn left
at the LETRA Dam. Park at the end of the road (1/2 mile).
Trail Information: Begin your run by crossing the dam and
following the road through the LETRA outdoor center, aim for the large mountain to the
west and you have entered the LETRA trail system. This is the same ground that the
12 Miles of Hell mountain bike race is held. There is no set course but the trails
are well groomed and easy to follow. You can customize your runs from short 2 milers
to lung burning 14 milers. The terrain is rough and the climbs are steep.
Miscellaneous Information: LETRA is situated on the Fort Sill
Military Reservation. Runners and mountain bikers are allowed access. There is alot
of loose rocks coupled with steep decents. People with bad ankles beware.
