Norrie State Park is situated on Route 9 just 2 miles North of Hyde Park. There is a large 2.5 mile loop trail starting at the picnic area up the hill from the boat landing. There is also a 1 mile trail that runs in a straight line along the Hudson River running North to Mills Mansion Historical Sight. The looping trail is perfect training for any marathoners, especially those in the Mid-Hudson Road runners Chapter. The Vanderbilt Mansion 1 mile South of Norrie also on Route 9, has an excellent 2 mile loop around it as well. The FDR Home is a few miles South of the Vanderbilt and also has trails around it. Hyde Park is pretty, historical and has plenty of good trails. If you are heading into Hyde Park from the South (Heading North), The very first strip mall you see on your left has a place called Mother Earth's that has a lot of good natural foods and workout supplements.
