Kitatinny Valley State Park, Andover

Directions: There are several ways to access the park. You can follow the signs for Andover Aeroflex Airport off Newton-Sparta Road in Andover, or travel a mile or so further and make a left at Max's Station House. Follow that to the park entrance on the left. You can also access different parts of the trails from Route 206 in Andover and Newton.

Trail Information: Varied terrain, some tricky rocky parts, great variety of hills and flats through heavily wooded areas, open meadows, around lakes, nice gravel railroad beds too. Some trails are quick and fun, others are more technical and strenuous. Mountain bikers use the trails more than runners.

Miscellaneous Information: It's a good idea to use some kind of organic bug repellent as the skeeters and deer flies can sometimes ruin a rockin' run. They're inconsistent, but it's better to be prepared. Dusk and early morning are beautiful times to be out, but the trails are pretty empty at these times.
