Description:

The Hungerford Games are a set of trail runs through the Manistee National Forest near Big Rapids, Michigan.  They consist of a half marathon, marathon, and 50-mile ultramarathon. Finishers will receive the world’s only hand-branded wooden finisher’s medal.

In 2021, The Games will take place on Saturday, September 25th. The ultramarathon will begin at sunrise (7:34 a.m.). The half marathon will begin at 8:20, and the marathon at 9:10. For each race, runners will begin their journey at PT Plus in Big Rapids.

Packet pick-up will be on Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and on
Saturday starting at 6:15 a.m.

We try to make The Hungerford Games the world’s most perfect little trail race. Hungerford is wonderfully diverse: some hills and some flats; some single-tracks, some two-tracks, and some lonely gravel roads; some dirt, some sand, and some mud. Coupled with the burgeoning colors of a late September forest in Michigan, and you’ve got everything that’s awesome about trail running. Plus, the all-wooden medals, hiking sticks, and trophies are incredible!
