The Genoa Peak Madathon is race #1 of 3 in the new Tahoe Dirt & Vert Series. The madness starts and finishes in the Historic Town of Genoa, NV and climbs to the top of Genoa Peak at 9150′. The course is approximately 24 miles in length and has over 6000′ of climbing. Runners ascend countless switchbacks through some technical sections of trail to summit Genoa Peak overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe. Spectacular views of the valley are seen throughout the entire course and there are several natural spring crossings including a waterfall before dropping 1200′ in 2 miles to return to the finish located at Trimmer Outpost. There is also an alternate 8 mile course that traverses along the contour of the mountains on the Discovery Trail 1200′ above the town of Genoa.
