Description:
Only 25 miles from downtown Atlanta, Cochran Mill Park is located in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia. Here you will see over 800 acres of woods, fields, streams, waterfalls, huge boulders, rock outcrops, wildflowers, mountain laurel, wildlife, and three historic mills. This hidden gem has never had a race of any kind until now. We invite you to come race with us, experience the beauty, and enjoy your own adventure. We have two races distances so there is something for everyone! We will post both race courses HERE soon! Every finisher will receive a soft cotton / poly blended short sleeved t-shirt. We will also have age group awards for the following categories for both races: Under age 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ – Top 3 Overall Male and Top 3 Overall Female. “Club Challenge” – we will be awarding the club, group or team an overall prize for the most finishers at the race. Additionally, we will take the top three overall times by club and add them together — the fastest team wins the podium spot! Note there is a $5 parking fee per Cochran Mill Park that will be collected at the entrance. All vehicles will be parked in a grassy field by the start of the race. Please bring cash and have it ready when you arrive at Cochran Mill Park. COURSE INFO: The 10.7 Miler: You will begin at 8am on a gravel road then enter the woods onto a flat to rolling Yellow loop. Once you reach the first stream, you will find a few more hills but also a lot more of the beautiful scenery the park has to offer. You will cross the famous Henry Mill Falls then start a slow climb through a moderately challenging and technical Red loop. We will bring you back over the falls where you will complete the Yellow loop to the flat finish and back to the field where we started. The 3.7 Miler: We will start you at 8:10am on the same gravel road as the 10.7 miler but send you off in the opposite direction. You will run about 0.3 miles before entering the rolling Yellow #7 trail. This brings you to the other side of the gravel road where you will then enter the woods for the rolling Yellow loop. You will have the same flat finish section as the 10.7 miler and exit the woods at the field.
